Fault Tolerant Control of PMSM Drive Using Luenberger and Adaptive Back-EMF Observers

Abstract: In this paper, we propose to design a sensorless controller that can cope both with performance and robustness by the hybridization of two controllers. The strategy introduced in this paper includes the sensorless active fault tolerant controller of the PMSM drive at high speed. It is built with the combination of a vector controller, two virtual sensors: Luenberger and adaptive back-EMF observers, and a voting algorithm using Newton-Raphson method. Simulation results are provided to verify effectiveness of th… Show more

“…In systems delineated by Takagi-Sugeno models, the application of observer bank schemes for fault diagnosis encounters challenges due to the introduced couplings within the structure. Consequently, limited research endeavors have addressed the development of observers grounded in fractional-order fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno models [14][15][16].…”

“…All the approaches to FTC can be categorised into two groups: active and passive (Elbakri and Boumhidi, 2020;Klimkowski, 2016;Medjmadj, 2019). The active approach requests a module for fault detection and isolation (FDI) in order to reconfigure the controller (Klimkowski, 2017).…”
