Abstract:The expanded use of multi-detector computed tomography has increased the proportion of diagnosed subsegmental pulmonary embolism. The clinical significance and prognosis of these embolisms remain unknown and the benefit of anticoagulation is not yet proven. Several previously validated diagnostic strategies for pulmonary embolism exclusion (based on single-detector computed tomography and ventilation-perfusion lung scan) were unable to detect most of these subsegmental pulmonary embolisms. However, these strat… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
