“…Situations like being faced with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment require considerable adjustment and the ability to cope. Women are called to cope with survival concerns and the fear of the disease’s recurrence and death (Luz et al, 2020 ), premature menopause leading to the loss of fertility (Anders et al, 2009 ), disruptions in professional and daily routines due to the barriers posed by treatments (Keesing et al, 2018 ), altered body image (Falk Dahl et al, 2010 ), and impaired sexual functioning (Dow & Kennedy Sheldon, 2015 ). The most common consequences of breast cancer include depression (Burgess et al, 2005 ; Pilevarzadeh et al, 2019 ), anxiety (Hashemi et al, 2019 ), post-traumatic stress disorder (Hegel et al, 2006 ), impaired health-related quality of life (Montazeri, 2008 ) and moderate to severe distress (Hegel et al, 2006 ; Mertz et al, 2012 ).…”
