The article argues that the balanced representation of the key types of oral and written communication for bachelor’s degree students is possible if the set of exercises of a textbook correlates with the standard structure of communications of a manufacturing company. It is shown that a realistic model of the activity of a firm determines rather high representation of exercises in the textbook that form the skills to produce texts of external (business) and intra-company written communication, along with scientific texts representing actual developments of the firm.
