“…In some fish farms, water temperatures are increased to the maximal level within the optimal range to increase the feeding rate, leading to enhanced growth rates. This in turn leads to an elevated metabolic rate and more rapid transit of food through the fish's digestive system (Goddard 1996). Velasco and Barros (2007) observed that the Caribbean scallop (Nodipecten nodosus) had a higher growth rate at 25 C than 20 or 28 C.
