Archachatina marginata, commonly known as the 'Giant African Land Snail,' is a snail species that is most accepted and cherished in Nigeria. It is a species of air-breathing tropical land snails belonging to the Phylum: Mollusca, Family: Achatinidae, Class: Gastropoda, and Subclass: Pulmonata. It is one of the predominant snail species in West Africa and Central Africa, and other species include Achatina achatina and Achatina fulica. 2 Snails, especially land snails, are mostly edible and nutritious-hence they have an excellent farming prospect. The rearing and breeding of snails are known as heliciculture, heliculture, or snail farming.
