FEM Investigation of the Roughness and Residual Stress of Diamond Burnished Surface

Abstract: Characterization of surface integrity is possible with three critical metrics: microstructure, surface roughness, and residual stress. The latter two are discussed in this paper for low-alloyed aluminum material quality.
