Female-specific issues in multiple sclerosis

Abstract: Complex neuroendocrine mechanisms regulating the immune response can be recognized in all autoimmune diseases. Such mechanisms develop through endocrine loops and feedback processes along the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonads axis and the hypothalamus-pituitary- adrenal gland axis.
