Abstract: -(Reproductive phenology, pollination and reproduction of Dipteryx alata Vogel (Leguminosae-Papilionoideae) in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil). The reproductive biology of Dipteryx alata was studied from September/2004 through August/2006. Dipteryx alata is a tree that blooms during the rainy season (4-6 months) and fructification peak occurs in the dry season. There are annual variations in the intensity of flowering and fructification. The flowers are zygomorphic, papilionaceous, hermaphrodite, relatively small,… Show more

“…The species is hermaphroditic and self-incompatible (Oliveira and Sigrist 2008). Pollination is mainly performed by large (Xylocopa suspecta, Apidae) and medium-size (Halictidae) bees (Oliveira and Sigrist 2008).…”

“…Studies considering the plant phenology of the cerrado savanna at species level are sparse (e.g. Goulart et al 2005, Lenza and Klink 2006, Oliveira and Sigrist 2008, Vilela et al 2008. However, the relationship between reproductive patterns and intraspecific synchrony has not been explored for cerrado savanna species, especially in the context of environmental changes (e.g.…”
