Ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties of BaTi1−xAlxO3, 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.015

Abstract: Single phase polycrystalline samples of BaTi1−xAlxO3, 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.015, have been prepared by a conventional powder processing method. The Rietveld refinements of X- ray powder diffraction patterns at room temperature indicate that the samples crystallize in tetragonal structure with group symmetry P4mm. Because of the oxygen vacancies, the volume of the unit cell increases with increasing x. Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed that the particle size of pure BTO ceramics was affected by the Al co… Show more

“…V 2 O 5 is an important TMO, as it is a promising material for several applications. 16,17 It is a a Empty Quarter Research Unit, Department of Chemistry, Collage of Science and significant photonic and electrical material. V 2 O 5 has intriguing uses in memory switching, optical switching devices, and electrical thresholds due to its comparatively high electrical conductivity and thermal stability.…”

“…An important feature of ferroelectrics is that remanent polarization (2P R = |P + | + |P − |) persists, even after externally applied E is abolished; this makes them suitable for application in non-volatile random-access memories. BaTiO 3 shows a remanent polarization and coercive field of 2.55 µC/cm 2 and 3.14 kV/cm, respectively [96]. NBT (Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 ) has a remanent polarization of 38 µC/cm 2 and coercive field of 70 kV/cm only [97].…”
