Abstract: Background: Fibrin-based biological adhesives are used for tissue adhesion improving the outcome of gastrointestinal sutures. The objective was to assess the effectiveness of fibrin-based biological adhesives for prevention of anastomotic leakage in high-risk gastrointestinal anastomoses.
