Field‐Free Spin‐Orbit Torque Switching in Synthetic Ferro and Antiferromagents with Exchange Field Gradient (Adv. Funct. Mater. 16/2023)

Abstract: Field‐Free Switching In article number 2211953, Tiejun Zhou, Wenjun Li, and co‐workers report that field‐free switching and high spin‐orbit torque efficiency are simultaneously achieved through the introduction of exchange field gradient into perpendicularly magnetized synthetic ferro‐ and antiferromagnets. The study provides new insights into field‐free switching of synthetic antiferromagnets and paves the way for memory and logical applications.

“…4c). Compared to uncoated PiNFA, PEDOT:PSS@PI demonstrates notably higher compressive stress at equivalent strains, particularly at 80% strains where this sample can withstand maximum compressive stress values of 250 kPa, which is significantly higher than those reported in previous works 8,27,52,60–62 (Fig. 4d).…”

“…Still, both functionalized separators demonstrate improved ionic conductivities than the PE separator, on account of the significantly enhanced electrolyte wettability and the thickness of separators (Figure 2i). The t Li + was estimated by impedance spectroscopy and direct‐current (DC) polarization measurements, [ 45 ] and the measured t Li + of Z5P/PE and Z5P/PE/SBF separator is 0.75 and 0.79, respectively, much higher than that of PE (0.38). The Z5P/PE separators can enhance the t Li + of LMBs possibly owing to the confinement of anions by pore sieving process and electrostatic interaction.…”

“…3b), which was not only higher than that of commercial PP separator (0.3-0.5), [46][47][48] but also superior to that of the most reported COFbased separators (0.5-0.8). 49,50 The results indicate that the asconstructed Au-COF/rGO interlayer can work as an ionic sieve to facilitate the diffusion of Li + , while restraining the transmission of polysuldes. This was further demonstrated by the visual permeation experiments (Fig.…”
