Objective: The objective of this study was to analyze the 100 most cited studies on vaccine. Methods: A comprehensive search of studies on vaccine was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection without year or language restrictions. The 100 top-cited studies were retrieved after screening abstracts or full-texts. The outcomes of bibliometric analysis included citation time, citation density, journal name, impact factor, publication year, article type, category, open access, and country of origin. Results: The citation times for the 100 top-cited studies ranged from 593 to 2406, with a median citation times of 834. The 100 top-cited studies were published in 32 journals, and the journal with the most studies was New England Journal of Medicine (n = 20). They were published between 1969 and 2012, and 4 authors published at least 2 studies as the first author. The USA contributed the most studies (n = 70), followed by Switzerland (n = 4), England (n = 4) and Finland (n = 4). Eighty-one studies were published as Article, while 19 were Review. Eleven studies were about vaccine for therapeutic and 68 studies were about vaccine for prophylactic. Conclusions: This is the first bibliometric analysis to provide a detailed list of the 100 most-cited studies on vaccine and helps to recognize the quality of the works, discoveries, and trends in the field.

Aim: This study aimed to identify and investigate the main characteristics of the top 100 most cited studies on conflict in published in nursing category in the Web of Science database using bibliometric and social network analysis methods. Design: A retrospective bibliometric analysis was used. Methods: The study data were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The top 100 studies with the highest number of citations were included in the study. The study data were analysed with Excel and SPSS and they were visualized with VOSviewer. Results: It was concluded that the studies in the research were published in 38 different journals between 1974-2019 and they were conducted by 245 different authors from 24 different countries. It was further reported that the Journal of Advanced Nursing was the most productive journal and the USA was the most productive country. The most commonly used keywords were "nurse," "conflict," "nursing," "job satisfaction," "work-family conflict" and "ethical conflict." Conclusion: The issue of conflict is a growing field of scientific study for nursing researchers. The quality of researches will be certainly enhanced in future with the studies published in journals with high impact factors. Impact: The research of the top 100 most cited paper is a new and innovative bibliometric approach to understand nursing literature. There is very little information about the development, structure and characteristics of the existing mass of knowledge on conflict in nursing studies. The study findings establish a basis of information for planning further studies and providing guidance. In addition, this study provides researchers, scientific journals, institutions and countries with an opportunity to assess and compare their own performance in conflict literature in nursing studies. However, the fact that the most cited studies in the field of conflict in nursing is in demand by journals with high impact factor is a source of motivation for researchers studying in this field.

Background:In recent years, China is increasingly playing an active role in various fields of biomedical research. Many bibliometric studies have provided valuable insights to different fields of clinical studies. However, similar evaluation on spine surgery-related clinical research is still limited. We herein aimed to examine the scientific publications by orthopedic spine surgeons from mainland China within a 14-year period.Methods:Articles were identified in PubMed using predetermined query terms. Descriptive statistics were calculated, and T tests, Chi-squared tests, and regression analysis were conducted on the number of publications, impact factors (IFs), citations, region of the study, and associated medical subject headings (MeSHs).Results:A total of 1498 articles were identified and the annual number of publications, citations, and IFs all increased exponentially. The average IF was significantly higher in 2007 to 2013 than 2000 to 2006. Most publications were from Shanghai and Beijing and the 5 most productive administrative regions generated 70% of all publications. Analysis of associated MeSHs suggested research topics became more heterogeneous over the study period.Conclusion:This was the first comprehensive evaluation on the clinical research output by orthopedic spine surgeons from mainland China. The annual number of publications and citations both increased significantly; however, research was highly concentrated in a handful of administrative regions.
