“…A meta‐analysis of 93 play therapy controlled outcome studies (Bratton, Ray, Rhine, & Jones, 2005) found a larger treatment effect for play therapy studies using filial therapy methodology (ES = 1.05) than for play therapy–only studies (ES = .72). CPRT has been shown to be effective cross‐culturally with immigrant parents living in the United States (Chau & Landreth, 1997; Lee and Landreth, 2003; Yuen, Landreth, & Baggerly, 2002) and other ethnically diverse groups (Glover and Landreth, 2000; Kidron, 2003; Sheely‐Moore & Bratton, 2010).
