Hope is an important aspect of positive psychological function and critical indicator of mental health in college students. Hope focuses on individual goal-related thoughts and is usually regarded as a general disposition toward engaging in conscious efforts to obtain goals (Snyder, 1995;Snyder et al., 1991), including pathway thinking (planning to meet goals) and agency thinking (goal-directed determination) (Snyder, 1995).
