“…Regarding the palpus, observations that were made with SEM exhibited two types of sensilla, sensilla basiconica and sensilla chaetica. The porous hair shafts of the small sensilla basiconica seen in this study were similar to those of sensilla basiconica in the palpus of the pomace fly, Drosophila (Diptera: Drosophilidae;de Bruyne et al 1999), and flesh fly, Neobellieria bullata (Diptera: Sarcophagidae; Wasserman and Itagaki 2003), as well as the sensilla basiconica type II described in the antenna of the eucalyptus woodborer, Phoracantha semipunctata (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) by Lopes et al (2002).
