Finite-time terminal synergetic control of a class of nonlinear systems with unmatched uncertainties

Abstract: In this paper, the problem of finite-time tracking for nth-order uncertain nonlinear systems with unmatched uncertainties is addressed. Using a terminal synergetic manifold, a controller is provided to force the tracking error to the origin in finite time in the presence of unmatched uncertainties. With this method, chattering problem is completely removed without defining a new function. Lyapunov theory is used to prove the stability of the proposed method. The proposed controller provides the convergence of … Show more

“…The synergetic control method is based on the principle of expansion and contraction of the controlled system state space. It can achieve the required transient performance, which is a challenging requirement for modern control of nonlinear system [26]. The control objective of this paper is to design an adaptive synergetic control algorithm for power system dynamics stabilization.…”

“…Moreover, adaptive control algorithms have been applied for chaos control of power systems in [24,25]. In addition, [25] applied a conventional linear manifold synergetic controller that suffers from the problem of a long convergence time to the equilibrium point, and reaching the reference signal may not be fast enough in cases that the initial conditions of the system state variables are far from the equilibrium [26].…”

“…Hence, it is unwanted in light of implementation [11]. Regarding chattering suppression, various types of chattering prevention schemes have been suggested [12][13][14]. For instance, many authors have been designing regulators for IM based on combining SMC theory and other advanced control methods such as backstepping algorithm, adaptive method, and fuzzy technique [15][16][17].…”
