In the current world, development and spread of antibiotic resistance among bacteria has been raised and antibiotic-resistant bacteria are one of the most important challenges of medical sciences and public health. The antimicrobial resistance genes can easily move and transfer among divers bacterial species and strains. The human gut microbiota consists of a dense microbial population contains trillions of microorganisms. Recent studies have shown the bacteria that make up the major part of gut microbiota harbor a variety of antibiotic resistance genes which are called resistome. The transfer of resistance genes from commensal bacteria to gut-resident opportunistic bacteria may involve in the emergence of multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria.
