First rank symptoms in mania: An indistinct diagnostic strand

Abstract: First rank symptoms (FRS) are considered to be pathognomic for schizophrenia. However, FRS is not distinctive feature of schizophrenia. It has also been noticed in affective disorder, albeit not inclusive in diagnostic criteria.
