“…Erysiphe lespedezae has been recorded to be associated with various plant genera in subfamily Caesalpinioideae ( Bauhinia ) (Meeboon & Takamatsu, 2017; Xu et al., 2018) and subfamily Faboideae ( Lespedeza , Millettia , Sophora and Kummerowia ) (Braun & Cook, 2012; Lee & Nguyen, 2020; Takamatsu et al., 1999, 2015; Xu et al., 2018) of Fabaceae. Since the plants B. variegata , B. blakeana and D. caudatum in Taiwan commonly serve as ornamentals and folk medicines, the occurrence of the powdery mildew may impair the aesthetic and economic values of these plants.…”

“…Our study expands the understanding of the host range of E. lespedezae to the plant genus Desmodium , suggesting that the powdery mildew may have more potential hosts in the subfamilies of Fabaceae. Currently, the known geographical distribution of E. lespedezae is in Asia, including Japan (Braun & Cook, 2012; Takamatsu et al., 1999, 2015), China (Braun & Cook, 2012; Xu et al., 2018), Korea (Braun & Cook, 2012; Lee & Nguyen, 2020), Russia (Braun & Cook, 2012), Thailand (Meeboon & Takamatsu, 2017) and India (Xu et al., 2018). In this study, it is evident that E. lespedezae is distributed in Taiwan.…”
