Abstract: According to recent data, fish fauna of the Oster River basin numbers 21 species, including two introduced species: Perccottus glenii and Pseudorasbora parva. 17 species of fish were registered in the lower section of the river (4 of them for the first time), 21 species were found in the middle section (12 of them were not previously noted for this section) and only 11 species were found in the upper section (6 species were not previously noted for this section). “…Since then, the species has spread into the River Ros itself and further tributaries, as well as the rivers Rosava and Rostavytsya. Later findings include those in the River Desna basin (Merzlikin & Fedorov, ; Roman, , , ; our data), in ponds of the River Sula basin within the Sumy region (Merzlikin & Fedorov, ) and in the rivers Trubizh, Irpin, Teteriv, Zdvyzh and Vilshanka (own data). All of these rivers feed fish ponds where farming of silver carp ( Hypophthalmichthys molitrix ), bighead carp ( Hypophthalmichthys nobilis ), grass carp ( Ctenopharyngodon idella ) and Prussian carp ( Carassius gibelio ) takes place.…”
