The communication network would have potential uses dependent on the infrastructure once the fifth generation (5G) network is fully commercialized. Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) authentication is a well-known mechanism for safeguarding the confidentiality of wireless device users. Fifth-generation computer technologies are very advanced in certification based on geolocation, regular confirmation, and authentication mechanisms. The clonable authentication feature solves the issue of authentication using duplicate modules. In highly dynamic environments, the problem poses a risk to privacy protection, adaptiveness, self-organization, information leakage, and the reliability of services. The article introduces a 2-way identity authentication method (2WIAM) using a Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) to address the issue above. The suggested technique for detecting module clones depends on user-provided authentication and geolocation data. The 2-way mutual authentication used in the suggested technique is a clever way to combine the many wireless technologies accessible to a given network node and enable the creation of wireless on-demand service providers and networks. The initial stage involves immediate passcode authentication, and the second is verifying the identity of the mobile equipment and any shifts or copies in its physical position. A new-cross authentication is then carried out to determine the identity of the clone's physical counterpart. In prior authentication situations, the choice to provide authorization or ban the clone was made fairly and objectively. The experiment results show that the users' privacy is protected, enhanced adaptiveness and the amount of data lost is limited.

Sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang tekstil di Pekalongan, mengolah serat kapas menjadi benang jadi. Produksi benang melewati beberapa proses yaitu blowing, carding, pre drawing, unilab, drawing breaker, drawing finisher, roving, spinning, winding dan packaging. Ditemukan banyak produk cacat, sehingga perusahaan perlu meningkatkan kualitas guna menjaga kepercayaan konsumen. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengendalian kualitas di perusahaan saat ini dan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada proses produksi. Metode yang digunakan Statistical Process Control dengan peta kendali atribut (p chart) dan usulan perbaikan disusun dengan diagram fishbone. Jenis cacat berupa gulungan kotor, full gembos, gulungan jelek, gulungan kecil, ring cones, salah cones, belang uv, dan tanpa ekor. Analisis data produk cacat benang TCM menunjukkan banyak data yang melebihi batas kendali, yang didominasi gulungan kotor sejumlah 143 cones, gulungan jelek 137 cones, full gembos 121 cones. Faktor-faktor yang menjadi penyebab produk cacat antara lain yaitu manusia, mesin, dan lingkungan, sehingga perlu diperhatikan lebih lanjut untuk perbaikan kualitas pada perusahaan.

Authentication is the process of verifying a user’s identity for them to access a system’s resources. An authentication factor is a piece of information used for this authentication. Three well-known groups of authentication factors exist: knowledge-based (what you know), possession-based (what you have) and inherence-based (what you are). Authentication schemes belonging to distinct authentication factors can be combined in a multi-factor manner to increase security. Although multiple multi-factor proposals are seen in literature, the absence of a method that allows a proper comparison and selection of these authentication methods, based on an application’s security requirements, can be observed. Existing frameworks for the analysis of authentication methods have been identified through the realization of a systematic literature review, but most of these focus on specific contexts and do not provide a generic enough solution. Due to the above, this research focuses on the creation of a recommendation framework that guides in the comparison and selection of single and multi-factor authentication schemes, considering both the application’s requirements and its context. This has been attained not only through the knowledge found in literature, but the experience from industry experts has been compiled as well through the collaboration with a multinational software development company. Consequently, the knowledge found in literature has been obtained from a systematic literature review, whereas the experience from industry experts was obtained through a survey and interviews. The framework proposal has been generated based on the above and has been validated through an expert panel and a case study methodology in collaboration with the partnered software development company. A tool prototype has been constructed as well. The result is a recommendation framework for the comparison and selection of authentication methods that can support this decision process in multiple contexts.
