“…More recently, the CENBG collaboration carried out Surrogate experiments to determine cross sections for neutroninduced reactions on several minor actinide nuclei relevant to the thorium-uranium fuel cycle and the transmutation of nuclear waste [9,12,25]. The transfer reactions 232 Th( 3 He,x) and 243 Am( 3 He,x), with x=α,t,d,p, were employed to obtain (n,f) and (n,γ) cross sections for Th and Pa targets [9,12] and (n,f) cross sections for Cm and Am targets [25], respectively. The STARS/LiBerACE collaboration employed the Weisskopf-Ewing approximation to determine the 237 Np(n,f) cross section, for neutron energies between 10 and 20 MeV, from a Surrogate measurement of the 238 U( 3 He,t) charge exchange reaction [26].…”
