Fístula biliobronquial tardía asociada a neumotórax

Abstract

Bronchobiliary fistula is an abnormal communication between the bile duct and the bronchial tree. It is a rare entity with a high mortality in the absence of surgical treatment. The etiology is very varied, and the diagnosis is mainly clinical due to the presence of bilioptysis, which is pathognomonic. The presence of bile has a corrosive effect on the lung and pleural space. We present the case of a late bronchobiliary fistula secondary to gunshot wound, which was accompanied by secondary pneumothorax. The resolution was through thoracotomy with nonanatomical segmentectomy and primary diaphragm closure.
