Fitability of the high-clearance tractor with the 4K4 wheel arrangement at the row spacing

Abstract: The results of laboratory, field and household tests of a tractor model implemented on sowing and row-spacing processing of cotton-plant during the growing season are specified in the article. Agrotechnical evaluation of damage to plants and knockability of cotton fruit elements by machine-tractor unit, consisting of compared tractors and cultivator, showed that knocking down cotton fruit elements in one pass at tractor with 4K4 wheel arrangement is less by 10% compared to tractor with 3K2 wheel arrangement. “…During the activities carried-out, existing prototype designs were analyzed [2, 9, 10], theoretical studies [11] were implemented, and the main parameters of the front portal drive axle with an increased agrotechnical gap were determined (Figure 1). [1] [2] a) Figure 1 shows that agrotechnical gap under the front axle beam depends on the design parameters of front axle, the tire sizes of its wheels and is determined by the following formula:…”

“…Cotton plant belongs to highly stalked industrial crops with a crop located on the aerial parts of plants [1]. In this regard, a cotton-growing tractor and agricultural machines aggregated with it should freely pass between rows without knocking fruit elements and injuring plants, especially during periods of its highest growth and fruiting [2].…”

“…Despite the adjustment of the units taking into account the protective zone, in some cases, during inter-row cultivation or care of crops, damage to individual plant sprouts and their root system occurs [7], knocking down of fruit elements [8] or leads to compaction of the soil in the zone where the root system lives, therefore , reduction in yield [9]. This occurs mainly due to the excessive deviation of some plant sprouts from the straightness of the rows of plants.…”
