Abstract:The paper considers the issues related to the study of the mechanisms of controlling the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels by electric fields. It is shown that influence of weak electric field on combustion in laminar mode leads to a change in the degree of flame stretching (Karlovitz number). For the Bunsen flame and reversed flame, estimates of changes in values of the degree of flame stretching when imposing an external constant electric field on flame are made.
