The Roma culture has always been a marginalised community within Spain yet revered for its performance artistry. This article explores flamenco and female flamenco dancers under the Francisco Franco dictatorship, 1939-1975. I discuss censorship under the political leader and its influence on flamenco as well as investigating the dynamics of women onstage within the flamenco sphere as seen through the documentary series Rito y Geografía (Rite and Geography) (1971)(1972)(1973)(1974). Gender roles are examined through analysis of popular culture during Franco's Spain and the manner in which he portrayed and romanticised the female flamenco dancer. I argue that he used the flamenco series as the vessel to manipulate discourse. Franco exploited flamenco to promote tourism and capitalised on the female flamenco dancer and used the series to promote a national identity.

This paper firstly researches the reform and innovation of higher vocational dance choreography teaching under the background of new media and puts forward the reform and innovation suggestions of higher vocational dance choreography teaching according to the structure and thinking steps of higher vocational dance choreography teaching. Then, research on dance choreography teaching based on virtual environment technology, using quaternion interpolation to define the distance between dance action frames in dance choreography teaching video, selecting public frames of dance choreography teaching video based on the definition of dance action, articulating the keyframes of dance action according to splicing the dance action sequences and analyzing the research on innovation of higher vocational dance choreography teaching. The results showed that in posture, the P-value of students’ shoulder, torso, sitting, standing, walking, and overall posture were less than 0.01, with highly significant differences. In terms of students’ aesthetics, the P value of students’ aesthetic sensibility was 0.026, P<0.05, aesthetic appreciation P value was 0.051>0.05, and aesthetic creativity P=0.063>0.05, which shows that students in the control class got a significant improvement in aesthetic sensibility. This study plays a certain role in inspiring and leading generalization for the teaching of dance choreography.

Hotspots and trends of flamenco dance research: A CiteSpace analysis

Flamenco dance, which is increasingly internationalized and globalized, has a huge market demand all over the world and it has been popular and valued by researchers nowadays. Thus, hotspots and trends research is essential to provide information for industrial development and further development lines. Based on 130 articles published from 1982 to 2021 (database updated on 4 December 2021) about flamenco dance in Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection, this research by using CiteSpaceV software explored the research hotspots and trends of the flamenco dance from the time horizon, collaborate network incorporates authors, institutions, regions, and keywords. Result: The number of publications shows an upward trend with fluctuations Since 2008. 9 main research groups are formed. The University of Seville is the most prolific institution and the Saint Anthony Catholic University of Murcia ranks the highest centrality. Spain is the highest yield region. The hotspots included cultural aspects, which include identity and art in Andalusia, as well as biomechanical and physical aspects, including body, anthropometry, and physical activity focusing on dancers. The trend of this field will be physical and psychological aspects. Conclusion: future research may focus on the body and psychological aspects.
