Flavobacterium humidisoli sp. nov., isolated from riverside soil

Abstract: A novel Gram-stain-negative, yellow-pigmented, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterial strain designated MMS21-Er5T was isolated and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic characterization. MMS21- Er5T could grow at 4–34 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 6–8 (optimum, pH 7) and in the presence of 0–2% NaCl (optimum, 1 %). The results of phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that MMS21- Er5T showed low levels of sequence similarities with other species, as the highest similarity of 97.83 % was observ… Show more

“…Extraction of genomic DNA and amplification of 16S rRNA gene were performed as previously described [12], and almost-complete sequences of MMS20-SJTN17 T (1399 bases) and MMS20-SJTR3 T (1433 bases) were obtained. Taxonomic identification was carried out using EzBioCloud [13], and sequence alignment using EzEditor [14], respectively.…”

“…Riverside soil environments harbour a great deal of prokaryotic diversity with various metabolic potential, from which we isolated and described a number of novel taxa in recent years [4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. In this study, a polyphasic taxonomic approach including phylogenetic, phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characterization was employed to describe two new species of Microcella isolated from riverside soil.…”
