Flavonoides de trece especies del género Bursera con potencial antioxidante Flavonoids of thirteen species of Bursera genus with antioxidant potential

Abstract: sources, herbarium work, and the author´s own observations, 41 taxa belonging to 12 genera and 37 species; four at level of genus were recognized. 461 records indicated that Lantana camara, Verbena carolina, Phyla scaberrima, and Lippia graveolens are the most cited species. 198 popular names were recognized, being Lantana camara the species with the highest number of denominations. The knowledge of the medicinal use of Verbenaceae comes mainly from researches carried out in the central area of the country. Re… Show more

“…Se ha encontrado que el extracto H 2 O-MeOH (2:8) contiene flavonoides mediante los reactivos de ácido 2-amino-etil éster difenilbórico 1% m/v en metanol (RPN) y polietilenglicol 4000 (PEG) al 5% en metanol, pero no se identificaron. Este extracto presentó actividad antioxidante en el modelo de DPPH a 10 ppm (Guevara-Fefer, 2017).…”

“…Furthermore, in B. simaruba, the flavonoids luteolin, apigenin and kaempferol have been identified, these being three flavonoids with recognized strong antioxidant properties (Bah et al 2014). In a recent work, six flavonoids have been reported in organic polar extracts of thirteen Bursera species, quercetin, rutin, naringenin, naringin, apigenin and apiin (Guevara-Fefer et al 2017), the aerial parts of B. grandifolia have a high phenolic content and free radical scavenging activities (Ruiz-Terán et al 2008). It has known that flavonoids participate in the defense mechanism of the plants protecting them against herbivorous organisms, phytopathogenic insects, bacteria and fungus pathogenic (Marcotullio et al 2018).…”
