Flavonoids as potential inhibitors of dengue virus 2 (DENV2) envelope protein

Abstract: Context: Dengue viruses (DENVs) are the cause of dengue disease, which is one of the most frequent diseases caused by mosquito-borne viral infections. Currently, no specific treatment is available for dengue. Aims: To identify the most promising inhibitors of dengue virus 2 (DENV2) envelope protein of DENV2 envelope protein from flavonoids compounds through computational methods. Methods: Structures of 54 flavonoids were collected, then the compounds were screened based on Lipinski’s rules, and there were on… Show more

“…In overall toxicity analysis, AGP 2 was predicted not to cause and lead to health issues and was safe to consume. Renatha et al (2022) stated that the threshold of the ligand Pa score based on QSAR analysis should be Pa >3.0. Based on the result from the QSAR analysis in Table 5, AGP 2 is expected to have many bioactivities.…”

“…Dengue is one of the most common infectious diseases found in tropical and subtropical regions, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas. Dengue is caused by the dengue virus (DENV) originating in the Flaviviridae family, consisting of five serotypes, namely which are transmitted by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus (Mustafa et al, 2015) with DENV-2 is the most circulating and predominant serotypes that caused severe dengue (Renantha et al, 2022;Sirisena et al, 2021). Dengue has become a global problem as an estimated 100-400 million people are infected yearly.…”
