Flavonoids ofPseudosophora alopecuroides

Abstract: UDC 547.972Pseudosophora alopecuroides (L.) Sweet (ram. Fabaceae) is a perennial herbaceous weed plant possessing an insecticidal and repellent action [1, 2]. In folk medicine, crushed seeds of this plant are recommended for poor digestion and loss of appetite [2]. The flavonoids isobavachin, glabrol, ammothamnidin, trifolirhizin, vexibinol, and vexibidin have previously been isolated from its roots [3, 4].We have now studied the flavonoids of the epigeal part of the plant gathered in the fruit-bearing period … Show more

“…However, flavonoids are abundant in the roots of S. alopecuroides and show significant antibacterial activities (Wan et al , ). The separation methods of flavonoids reported use conventional silica column chromatography, preparative HPLC and LH‐20 gel (Wan et al , ; Butayarov et al , ; Iinuma et al , ). These methods have the disadvantages of a small preparative capacity and serious loss of absorbance for the components.…”
