Flexible RFID Tag Metal Antenna on Paper‐Based Substrate by Inkjet Printing Technology

Abstract: A reliable and low-cost solution-processing procedure to synthesize a highly adhesive flexible metal antenna with low resistivity for radio-frequency identification device (RFID) tags on paper substrates via inkjet printing combined with surface modification and electroless deposition (ELD) is demonstrated in this paper. Through the surface modification of colloidal solution of hydrolyzed stannous chloride and chitosan solution, the paper-based substrate is able to reduce the penetration rate of ink and furthe… Show more

“…It is apparent that there are two transition voltages among the three different conduction regimes described by Supplementary Eqs. (1)- (3). At V 1 , the injected carrier concentration first exceeds the thermally generated carrier concentration, and the shallow traps are fully filled at V 2 37 .…”

“…Nanomaterials, in the form of colloidal or chemical dispersion, are deposited through a micro-sized nozzle. Inkjet printing is versatile and available for industrial-level production, involves few numbers of processes, and can control amounts of deposited materials [37,74,88]. Moreover, the contamination of the substrate can be minimized in that it does not need masks and contact with nozzle [4].…”
