Abstract:This work presents the taxonomic treatment of the genus Astraea in Bahia. The state, along with Minas Gerais, has the highest diversity of Astraea, with seven species recognized: A. digitata, A. gracilis, A. klotzschii, A. paulina, A. praetervisa, A. subcomosa and A. surinamensis. The treatment includes an identification key, descriptions, photographs and distribution maps, besides comments on geographical distribution, habitat and phenology.
