Flow boiling of HFE-7100 in a minichannel with local heating

Abstract: Flow boiling of dielectric fluids for cooling of modern electronics is appealing due to low saturation temperatures of such fluids. In the current paper the flow boiling experiments of HFE-7100 dielectric fluid were performed in a locally heated minichannel with height of 1.5 mm and were compared to flow boiling of pure water. A significant decrease in heat transfer performance and critical heat flux is observed for HFE-7100 compared to pure water.
