Flow Injection Analysis with Turbidity Detection for the Quantitative Determination of Mebeverine Hydrochloride in Pharmaceutical Formulations

Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to develop and validate flow injection method, a precise, accurate, simple, economic, low cost and specific turbidimetric method for the quantitative determination of mebeverine hydrochloride (MbH) in pharmaceutical preparations. A homemade NAG Dual & Solo (0-180º) analyser which contains two identical detections units (cell 1 and 2) was applied for turbidity measurements. The developed method was optimized for different chemical and physical parameters such as perception re… Show more

“…It plays a vital role in patient safety, pharmacological research, and the overall management of healthcare. Therefore, a series of methods have been developed for the determination of various drugs, including ow injection, [14][15][16] turbidity, [17][18][19] solid phase extraction, 20 HPLC, 21 electrochemistry 22 and spectrophotometry. 23,24 Inspired by these revolutionary works, a team of procient scientists and researchers has successfully developed a colorimetric assay using AuNPs, enabling the swi detection of bagonists.…”

“…[16,17] Given the significant decreases in waste generation compared to previous procedures, [18,19] they are environmentally safer. [20][21][22] Numerous spectrophotometric techniques based on colourimetric reactions have been described for the detection of doxycycline hyclate in pharmaceutical preparations and biological fluids. These techniques use reagents such as Iron (III), [23] Cu (II)/H 2 O 2 , [24] bromate-bromide, [25] diazotized 4aminoacetophenone, [10] and semicarbazide.…”

“…Moreover, the turbidimetric method has the advantages of low consumption of samples and reagents, high accuracy, simple operation and quick analysis. Therefore, several turbidimetric-FIA procedures have been developed for the determination of active pharmaceutical ingredients in different matrices [25][26][27][28][29]. To overcome the limitations associated with the spectrophotometric-flow injection technique, an inexpensive, very simple and long-optical-path turbidimetric-flow cell is designed and evaluated.…”
