Using this set of criteria, the required number of points has been found to range between a minimum of 400 and a maximum of 2800 in the horizontal direction (and a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 300 in the vertical direction) depending on the considered conditions (with the corresponding computational time required to run a complete simulation using four 3.4 GHz CPUs in parallel being 30 min, 4 h, 1 day, 3 days and 7 days for the cases with mesh 400 × 40, 800 × 80, 1200 × 120, 20 0 0 × 200 and 2800 × 300, respectively).…”
