“…The size of the plot in which the bumble bee colonies were introduced was 5.5 ha (hereafter bb1, UTM: 31S 495,156 4,363,492), whereas that of the control was 6.73 ha (hereafter c1, UTM: 31S 495,609 4,364,922). In both plots, the almond trees were planted in 2006 and belong to three varieties (“Glorieta”, “Ferragnés” and “Masbovera” which are self‐sterile) distributed in alternative rows; all three varieties are late blossoming, compatible with each other, highly productive and require cross‐pollination (Arquero, ; Arquero et al, ; Arquero, Rodríguez, Casado, Jiménez, & Navarro, ; Serrano et al, ). Son Pons was included in the last year of the experiment and is situated in Eastern Mallorca.…”
