Fluid loading and norepinephrine infusion mask the left ventricular preload decrease induced by pleural effusion

Abstract: BackgroundPleural effusion (PLE) may lead to low blood pressure and reduced cardiac output. Low blood pressure and reduced cardiac output are often treated with fluid loading and vasopressors.
