“…A clear self-quenching of fluorescent emission was also observed while increasing the concentration of C 12 IFQA in solution, as a result of the intermolecular aggregation (see the Supporting Information). Solid-state UV−vis spectrum of C 12 IFQA was similar to that in concentrated nonpolar solvent ( Figure 3a), except that the spectrum was slightly further redshifted, indicating a complete H-bonded form and possible π−π stacking interaction in the thin film. These experimental results unambiguously confirmed the H-bonding ability of C 12 IFQA in solution and in the solid state.…”

“…The H-bond-donating feature of the N–H group can therefore be retained. In terms of cost, the main starting material of IFQA (i.e., fluorene) is an inexpensive, mass-produced commodity chemical as a byproduct of the coke industry . Taking advantage of the good solubility and high regioselectivity of fluorene starting materials, we developed a cost-effective and environmentally benign synthetic route, “condensation followed by annulation”, for general construction of soluble quinacridone derivatives.…”

“…For this reason, the processing of slag waste to produce building materials is proposed. The problem of disposal of ash and slag waste (10-15% of the processed coal input) produced by industrial solid-fuel boiler plants is quite relevant [13,14].…”
