Abstract:Bihar is among the poorest states in the country with a very high incidence of poverty. Although in recent years it has witnessed a high rate of growth, the state continues to be among the economically most backward states, with one of the lowest per capita incomes. During the year 2020–21, the per capita net state domestic product (NSDP) of Bihar (Rs. 46,292) was only 36 per cent of India (Rs. 128,829).
