Abstract:Gastric bypass related hyperammonemia (GaBHA) is a rare and potentially fatal complication following bariatric surgery. Proposed mechanisms include unmasking a genetic disorder involving the urea cycle, severe nutritional deficiencies, or stress induced from acute illness.
