Forced-Cooling Model Tests

Abstract: This paper describes the forced cooling of a model of a pipe-type cable circuit, utilizing mechanical refrigeration to cool the pipe-filling oil. Measured oil film thermal resistances and oil chiller performance are reported. Two pipe-filling oils were tested, a highviscosity oil normally used for pipe-type cable and an experimental low-viscosity polybutene.
