Abstract:The May 1, 1939, forecast of inflow to Lake Mead was as follows: Accumulated precipitation during the period October 1938–April 1939, inclusive, compared with similar accumulative records for corresponding periods of the two previous seasons, indicated that the total precipitation to May 1, 1939, was 90 per cent of the average of the previous years, and that the inflow to Lake Mead would probably be 8,000,000 acre‐feet between May 1 and August 1, 1939.
