Forecasting Aircraft Owner Equipage Responses to Potential Faa Actions

Abstract: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is considering many new technological solutions to improve the efficiency and capacity of the National Airspace System (NAS). Most of these technologies require the addition or modification of equipment not only on the ground, but also in the aircraft that operate in the NAS. If these aircraft equipage costs are too high, the owner/operators may not equip their aircraft and the overall program might not proceed as desired.Presented is a methodology that can be used to … Show more

“…In order to evaluate the dependency of th the CPU utilization on the ADS-B target load mitigation strategies, simulations of ground traffic were constructed using an aircraft traf reason for constructing a model of the air traf to the relatively small peak ADS-B target loa VCS0 today (100) vs. its projected required Even if this required capacity is not reached constraints, an order of magnitude increase in is expected over the next several years [6]. A growth profiles were conceived for each test These growth profile scenarios were set to beg load (e.g.100 ADS-B targets) and increase by (e.g.…”
