“…FDI also plays a paramount role in enhancing domestic production and hence increasing international competition which can reach international WTO standards. Anwar and Nguyen (2011) in their study, focused on the case of Vietnam by using a panel data involving 19 main trading partners during the period of 1990-2007 in particular pre, during and post the Asian financial crisis. They reached the conclusion that FDI has a strong and positive impact on economic growth especially after the Asian crisis through increasing net-exports in Vietnam although there was insignificant impact of FDI in boosting trade before and during the crisis.…”
