Formal QoS Policy Based Grid Resource Provisioning Framework

Abstract: Grid resource provisioning is a complex task that is often compromised due to nonavailability of the desired resources. The heterogeneous and dynamic nature of the Grid resources depends on the Quality of Service (QoS) based resource provisioning for allocation of appropriate resources to Grid applications. Until resource provisioning is considered a fundamental capability, predictable QoS cannot be delivered to the Grid consumers. A resource provisioning policy based on QoS parameters is required for efficien… Show more

“…Above all, these works only considered limited scheduling objectives, more research is needed to give a flexible resource provisioning policy-based scheduling algorithm which supports both user's preference and resource provider's benefits. Resource provisioning policies have been discussed in our previous work [23].…”

“…After this, the task of authorization and authentication is performed at the portal side. -Resource Provisioning (RP) unit takes the information about the available resources from Resource Information Center (RIC) [23]. RIC collects all the information about the resource provider's resources and trust level of the resources from Resource Trust Manager (RTM).…”

“…Resource Management System (RMS): The complexity of managing the resources drives the need for an efficient resource management system that must handle crucial tasks such as accepting and rejecting the user requests, starting the components of the accepted requests on private/public resource and migrating components vulnerable for deadline violation from the public resources to the dedicated resources [16]. It helps to maximise the net revenue and minimize the time for execution of an application [17].…”
