Formalization and practical implementation of a conceptual model for PID controller tuning

Abstract: This document describes the process of implementation and formalization of a rule-based conceptual model oriented to PID tuning, developed by an expert in the domain of control engineering. The quality of the formal model is critical to carry out an implementation process oriented to get a CACSD (Computer Aided Control System Design) software application, where a nonexpert user can perform a tuning process aided by the application, and where the expert in control can update rules in the formal model to improve… Show more

“…We take plant and controllers as in [10,14], For E c gains and region of stability ϒ in the delay-independent analysis we use (7), (9), (10), (11), (21) and (23). Similarly for the delay-dependent analysis, we use (12), (16), (17), (18), (21) and (22).…”

“…An AC motor control application further reinforces the control topology with some additional findings. The insight of the new topology is also invoked after having gone through the detailed literature [15][16][17][18][19][20][21].…”

“…The vast majority of industrial companies perform complex and expensive processes (Jove et al, ; Alaiz Moretón et al, ). It is possible to optimize the operation of those processes leading to an increased efficiency in the use of energy and resources and a greater quality of the final product.…”
