Until present, II–VI and IV–VI quantum dots such as ZnS, ZnSe, CdS, CdSe, PbS, PbSe, etc., have been prepared in glasses, tunable absorption and photoluminescence in the visible and near‐infrared spectral range has been achieved . It has also been found that precipitation of quantum dots into the glasses can prevent the agglomeration of quantum dots, and maintain the thermal stability of quantum dots as most of the quantum dots were precipitated inside the glass matrices upon thermal treatment at temperatures ranging from 400°C to 600°C …”
