Formation and Properties of SrB 6 Single Crystals Synthesized under High Pressure and Temperature. -SrB6 single crystals are grown from Sr pellets and B powder at 5 GPa and 1300°C (3 h). The compound crystallizes in the cubic space group Pm3m. Resistivity and Hall-coefficient measurements show that the obtained SrB6 single crystal has semimetallic behavior with electronic current carriers. Magnetization measurements reveal the diamagnetic nature of SrB 6 . The boride shows a hardness of 33 GPa. The compound is further characterized by DFT calculations. -(YU*, D.; et al.; J.
