Formation kinetics of Sr0.25Ba0.75Nb2O6 and Li2B4O7 crystals from 0.25SrO–0.75BaO–Nb2O5–Li2O–2B2O3 glass

Abstract: We have investigated the transition kinetics of Sr0.25Ba0.75Nb2O6 (SBN) and Li2B4O7 (LBO) crystals from 0.25SrO–0.75BaO–Nb2O5–Li2O–2B2O3 (SBNLBO) glass under isothermal and non-isothermal processes.

“…Figure 2c ) presented the highest strain. This is characteristic of samples with smaller crystallites since they have a higher surface tension, which tends to create more distortions in the network [54]. It is worth mentioning that the crystallite size determined is not related to the particle size of the material.…”

“…The strain and crystallite size can affect the width and intensity of the diffraction peaks. Thus, the FWHM can be written as b hkl ¼ b size þ b strain , where after rearranging the equation, the effects of the crystallite size can be rewritten as b size ¼ Kk=D cos h and that of the strain as b strain ¼ 4e sin h [54,55]. Figure 2c ) presented the highest strain.…”
